Our primary objective is to publish conceptual and research articles that delve into the application of language studies, literature studies, and cultural studies, emphasizing their significance in teaching and the experiences of language in education.</p> <p><strong>Collaborative Partnerships:</strong> Singular Journal is proud to announce its collaboration with the <em>Indonesischer Germanistenverband</em> (IGV) or Indonesian Germanists Association and IGBJI Malang. This partnerships enrich the journal with insights from the forefront of German language studies in Indonesia.</p> <p><strong>Global Reach:</strong> Our journal's scope is global, and we encourage submissions from academics, researchers, graduate students, and policymakers. Articles submitted to Singular Journal can be written in English or in Bahasa Indonesia.</p> <p><strong>Diverse Coverage:</strong> Singular Journal covers a broad spectrum of topics, including but not limited to assessment and testing in language learning and education, applied linguistics methodologies and issues, classroom language teaching concerns, cultural aspects in language, language education, language curriculum development and implementation, effective methods for language teaching, diversity/multiculturalism, language in higher education context, language competences, language learning and identity, literacy, bilingualism, bilingual education, and translation and interpretation (simultaneous/consecutive interpretation). <p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkatan kemampuan serta mengukur pemahaman siswa yang berkaitan dengan penggunaan media gambar dalam pembelajaran menulis teks deskriptif pada siswa kelas VII SMPN Kota Baru Kefamenanu. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Data penelitian adalah segala bentuk fakta dan angka yang bisa dijadikan bahan untuk menyusun suatu informasi, sehingga fakta dalam bentuk apapun nantinya bisa dijadikan data untuk peneliti, sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas VII-B SMPN Kota Baru Kefamenanu yang berjumlah 21 orang. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan media gambar terbukti sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa kelas VII SMPN Kota Baru Kefamenanu. Peningkatan terlihat jelas dari nilai rata-rata pre-test 62,38 (kategori sedang) menjadi post-test 83,73 (kategori baik). Media gambar terbukti efektif dan signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi siswa. Peningkatan nilai rata-rata, pengaruh yang signifikan berdasarkan uji-t, serta kategori peningkatan N-Gain yang tergolong sedang–tinggi menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran menggunakan media gambar bukan hanya meningkatkan hasil belajar, tetapi juga memperbaiki proses belajar siswa dalam menulis.</p>Regelinda RatnaVincentius MaukJose Da Conceicao Verdial
